Enrique A. Hernández-Villegas
Attorney, Mediator and Arbitrator
I am a lawyer who specializes in private law and in the use of alternative dispute resolution as an effective means to expand access to justice. I try to resolve disputes through an efficient and respectful communication process and, when possible, without the intervention of any type of court. With this approach, I work to maintain the valuable personal or commercial relationships of our clients.
However, when litigation is unavoidable and is the last resort in resolving a legal dispute, my experience and solid reputation support me in offering specialized assistance in the adversarial procedural field.
I am a founding partner of SCL and former partner at Baker & McKenzie, S.C., where I practiced as head of the Dispute Resolution Group for the Mexico City office from 1996 to 2011.
I have been a professor at Universidad Iberoamericana teaching General Theory of Legal Process, Civil Procedural Law and ADR, as well as guest professor in EGADE Business School of the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Currently, I am a professor at Centro de Justicia Alternativa in Mexico City, as well as professor at Universidad Panamericana teaching ADR.
I am a member and participate in the most important Bar associations of attorneys and mediators in the country.
I am also committed to Pro Bono work. I participate in the Fundación Barra Mexicana.
I am a native Spanish speaker and also fluent in English.
